Good morning!
We’re in the homestretch of summer now, and you can feel that in the air, especially in early mornings. If you love coffee, maybe we can keep you company while you sip. A lot of us do our strongest work in the morning with coffee or in the middle of the night (why is that?). Coffee gets us ready for the day. Prayer gets us ready for a great day!
Just a reminder. If you’re in the middle of a storm, don’t give up.
You can still have peace.
You don’t have to fear.
When we take our eyes off Him and start thinking with our carnal minds during a storm, all we get are fears layered on fears layered on fears.
Without God’s help, David would not have made it. In the middle of his journey, David had to deal with betrayal, jealousy, feeling overwhelmed, threats of physical harm, fighting his own failures, others criticizing him—and the anguish of his sin. But the middle of your journey is not the end. A storm is not the end. The key is that David learned how to praise before the victory.
There are seasons of everyone’s life when they run out of strength and don’t know how to move forward. It’s when our carnal thinking has taken over and right in the middle of the storm, we become jaded and want to give up. Just like Jesus calmed the storm in the ship, He will calm yours, too.
Until He does, keep serving, keep working, and keep your joy.
God is still there, and His peace is a song that will restore your soul.
Share this with a friend who needs to call on His name until the storm passes by.
(Had this song (by Joseph Larson) on repeat lately. It’s just part of the song, but it’s encouraging if you are going through a storm.)
My God has never failed me. I surely have failed HIM time and time again. But MY GOD has never failed me. HE has carried me when I could not go any further.
Recently I thought about how when I am in HIS arms, if I look over HIS shoulder, the footprints in the sand took a different path. HE changed my direction. I was content on the path I was taking, but HE knew I needed a course correction.
When times seem difficult, I hold to this memory and meditate on the direction I am headed. Let go – Let GOD……..
HE will make a well in the desert!
